The Unsung

History

In a marquee in Greenwich Park, Uninvited Guests asked people to tell them about someone they would like to honour, whose life or deeds they want to commemorate. It was a chance to propose a temporary memorial to their favourite teacher or forgotten aunt.

Uninvited Guests worked with artists Sophia Clist and Sam Steer who created beautiful memorials out of paper, and placed them around the park. At the end of the weekend, there was a short celebratory procession between the impromptu memorials to unsung heroes, lost and living. Uninvited Guests marked their acts with a story, a gesture of remembrance, a song or a tune.
