THE
PROJECTOR JAMS
THE FILM PRINT FLARES
THE IMAGE BURNS OUT ACROSS THE SCREEN.
In Film Uninvited Guests imagine the end of cinema - a time
when the films have been lost or banned, the prints degraded, or
burned. In a series of interviews in cinemas, people were asked
to describe scenes from movies which stood out in their memories.
In a theatre space, part studio - part private cinema, Uninvited
Guests restage the film shoots and produce a live edit/mix. Imagining
members of a futuristic underground and illicit "film club", we
use performance and technology to try to piece the movies back together
from our fading memories and present a bastard theatre obsessed
with the movies.
'Film continues an ambitious and intriguing project to map the
condition and mood of the Real.'
(Simon Jones, Live Art Magazine, January 2001)
'Uninvited Guests' provocative live event Film was a sensational
treatment of the New Media explosion.'
(South West Arts Newsletter)
