THE PROJECTOR JAMS
THE FILM PRINT FLARES
THE IMAGE BURNS OUT ACROSS THE SCREEN.
In
Film Uninvited Guests imagine the end of cinema - a time when
the films have been lost or banned, the prints degraded, or
burned. In a series of interviews in cinemas, people were
asked to describe scenes from movies which stood out in their
memories.
In a theatre space, part studio - part private cinema, Uninvited
Guests restage the film shoots and produce a live edit/mix.
Imagining members of a futuristic underground and illicit
"film club", we use performance and technology to try to piece
the movies back together from our fading memories and present
a bastard theatre obsessed with the movies.
